"The girl you grew up with, you just don't know it..."
American Idol Underground Award winner Bettina co-wrote her chart-topping first single as a tribute to her parents' marriage and in 2007 & 2008 it resonated with fans at #4 on the Billboard Charts. Her follow-up single, the autobiographical "Cradle To The Grave", reflects her values as well and kicked off 2009 by hitting #9 on the charts. People Magazine raves about Bettina in their "New Stars We Love" feature.
"This song is about family. It's the most important thing in the world to me - it's the most important thing in the world to all of us."
A born entertainer, Bettina's passion for music is a driving force. Her childhood spent professionally in recording studios singing Disney children’s records, jingles, and voicing cartoon characters, Bettina has brought life to many beloved characters including Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, and Alisa on Rugrats. Growing up behind a microphone, the multi-ethnic Native American beauty's artistic growth organically led her to explore her musical roots and individual sound, while developing a love for the disciplined co-writing process in Nashville.
"I have this vivid memory of being a toddler - my mom listened to Dolly Parton, The Judds, and Elton John, while my dad played old Motown. I couldn't yet read, write, or speak full sentences, but I sang those songs over and over and knew exactly what they meant - and what they meant to me."
Songwriter's circles, showcases and collaborations all became part of the evolution of a young artist's sound and Bettina’s world. Back home in California to sing the McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” campaign and voice some of the most popular video games in the world (Final Fantasy, Madagascar), Bettina was inspired by the love between her parents to co-write and record her hit single “She Is”. Following her American Idol Underground win in the Pop category, the buzz surrounding Bettina led to the beautifully produced music video for “She Is” which displays Bettina’s unique appeal, feeding the already high popular demand for this artist. She rounded out her 2008 tour performing at the US Air Force Academy with Smashmouth, opening for Gretchen Wilson in Atlantic City, and sharing the stage with American Idol's David Archuleta in Hollywood.
Bettina is currently in the studio working on her new album "Emerald City" with producer Automatic who just wrapped production with the Pussycat Dolls and Pink, and she's recorded a collaboration with Darius Rucker and Mark Bryan of Hootie and the Blowfish.
