LUNCH & NIQUE
Lunch tha General
From the Inland Empire, Lunch tha General started putting out mixed tapes in 2006. He came out hard, hitting the streets with 3 releases in 1 week; Lunch “Reheated Vol 2”, Lunch “Eat and Defeat”, and the Lunch “IE Stand Up Mixtape Vol. 909” (hosted by Dantana & A.M.G).
These mixtapes created such a huge street buzz that soon magazines and blogs started to catch wind of the momentum. The buzz catapulted him into the limelight, and he was featured in places such as allhiphop.com, dubcnn.com, TRUE Magazine, The Skinnie, CrunkMag.com, Live Magazine, Network, Wordup, Westside Story, Flipsidah, just to name a few. Soon his biggest hit to date was released, “Get’em Girl,” and the Street Banger took off, garnering the attention of Universal Records. The industry giant immediately signed Lunch Tha General while the single ‘Get’em Girl” was hot, getting over 200 spins per week. The hit was followed up with the remix which featured Ray J. This made the song a certified club anthem with over 400 spins per week.
Lunch tha General, parted ways with Universal, but didn't let it stop him. He regrouped and went back in the studio with new producers and recorded, “What’s for Lunch???” mixtape hosted by Clinton Sparks and Co-hosted by G-Unit’s Tony Yeyo.
