RESURRECTING A HIP-HOP LEGENG, BIG L

To all the fans, friends, supporters and contributors of the Big L legacy, we can now confirm that a movie based on the life and death of the Harlem Hip-hop legend Lamont ( Big L) Coleman is in the works titled “PUT IT ON”. After the rap legend’s passing in 1999 along with his brother Big Lee’s passing as well in 2002 his estate landed in the hands of his mother Gilda (Pinky) Terry, unfortunately she also passed away in 2008, so the estate was passed down to that last survivor of the family Big L’s oldest brother Donald Phinazee. After years of disputes over unreleased projects, rights and ownership of past projects and other material surrounding the work catalogue of Big L the estate was eventually signed over to the son of Big Lee Sr., Leroy Phinazee Jr. Leroy Phinazee Jr. is the current estate holder of Lamont (Big L) Coleman has a lot of future plans to keep his family’s legacy alive. The first project is a highly anticipated film titled “Put It On” based on the life and death of Big L. Leroy partnered with Scrilla Guerillaz Magazine CEO Jesse Swindell better known as Daze to bring his uncle Big L’s story to the big screen.

From the looks of everything, this film looks like it will be one of the biggest hip-hop films to date. We can all agree, yea there was some good and bad biopics over the years. However, this one looks to be a classic. The script was written by Jesse (Daze) Swindell, with the help of some family and friends of Big L including Donald Phinazee (Big L’s Brother), Rasheem Swindell, recording artist and childhood friends McGruff, Stan Spit, and a few others not to mention. Fans can expect to see portrayed appearances from Jay-Z, Nas, Fat Joe, Big Pun, Lord Finesse, Biggie Smalls or more. Official Big L attire is being negotiated to promote the film as well as an exclusive pair of Big L sneakers sponsored by the Ewing Brand. Potentials investors can now get in on the film by visiting the website and be apart of Hip-Hop history.

Casting is said to take place in New York City over the summer of 2019. Based on the Instagram profile @BIGLBIOPIC the film seems to have already found their lead man to portray the slain rap icon. I can’t imagine how good the soundtrack is going to be.The world is in for a treat. The Big L story is finally coming to the big screen.
