Born and raised in Dominican Republic, KATONTHEMUV grew up in the city of La Romana until she relocated to Miami, FL at the age of ten. Here she became more connected with her Afro-Latina roots, while going through the daily struggles as a teenage immigrant in Miami. Later, she decided to move to Atlanta, GA. where she began pursuing a dance career studying Jazz, Modern, Latin, and Hip- Hop dance styles. During this time, she also developed a passion for the Hip- Hop culture and began writing spoken words on beats. In her pursuit for new producers, she linked up with Producer/Engineer PourItUp Sip and began creating her sound and recording her self-titled EP KATONTHEMUV. Her single “Isla (feat Sonic Escobar)”, is her S/O to the come-up. She delivers fresh and catchy rhymes with good energy, while giving listeners a glimpse into her upbringing in Dominican Republic.
