- How Long Have You Been DJing or Affiliated With the Entertainment Business?
- I started in the music biz in 95 working with High Velocity T.V. as Associate Producer. We used to interview independent and National Artist, my job was to setup interviews by contacting the Labels and building relationships with the people behind the scens. Over the 3 years with the show I was instrumental in interviews with such artis as Nas, DMX, Eminem, D12, TrickTrick, Destiny's Child, KC and JOJO, Kid Rock, Project Pat, Mobb Deep and The LOX. This is when I met Morris Baxter with LOUD Records, he help me get my foot in the door, by giving me a promotions job for LOUD.. It wasnt about the money it was about the opportunity, we would make money by throwing open mic showcases and featuring LOUD up and coming artist and promotion. In 98 after a short college hoop career I went to Atlanta, my Cuz and biz partner J Mclane was working for Left Eye Productions, I landed a job in advertising with CRUNK Magazine by day and woking in promotions for DEF JAM South at night. This is when I met Prism he ran the streets of Atlanta for Def Jam South. We used to setup afterpartys for Def Jam artist whenever they came to Atlanta. At the same time I was working with Def Jam I was building my company MAD Entertainment, we were working with a artist from N.C. named TightMan he had a situation wit MCA and JAZZY PHA. We used to throw the Celebrity Monday's at the Gentleman Club. I was with Def Jam until 02 during my time there I had opportunity to work on Roc A Fella, DTP, Murder Inc. and RedMan projects. In 2005 I hooked back up with childhood friend K'Jon to A&R the "YES SIR" street R&B Mixtape and Video. This mixtape was instrumental in him get a record deal with Chopper City Records, B.G and Carol Dorsey's Label. It was there that had a opportunity to work as A&R on the "THIS IS ME " album in 2006 which gave birth to the hit "On The Ocean" which is currently in rotation nationaly. I continue to grind everyday but focusing more attention on my own company and clients WADE Consulting/ MAD Entertainment & Media LLC.
