Fresh off their 18-city "Not Normal Tour" tour where Bino opened for Bravo, the new track is all about growing up in the hood. Bino says, “From the Black-side to the Mexican-side, we both go through the same things -- we have to "Hoodie Up!" He adds, "Bravo's my homie. Black and Brown together.”
Upbeat and celebratory, the song is about finding joy in difficult situations. Lyrics like, “Ayee hoodied up / Remember when they told me I wasn’t good enough / Remember when they told me I wasn’t shit bitch / Now I walk up on ‘em walk ‘em down with a big stick” highlight what it takes to rise above the haters and step into your power. The beat is electric and each artist brings a unique flavor and sound to the anthem, resulting in a full-bodied hit.
HoodTrophy Bino just toured with Bravo the Bagchaser and Soulja Boy. Having broken free from the struggles of gang life and poverty, Bino remains true to his roots while carving out a new path for himself. His journey is captured in the documentary The HoodTrophy Bino Story: Breaking the Generational Curse, which has earned over 61 awards in the film festival circuit this year. His single "I Want Her" ft. Kalan.FrFr was recently added to Power 106FM, SiriusXM's The Heat, 97.9 La Raza and Power 96 in Miami.
HoodTrophy Bino, born Tadashi Sayres, is a Los Angeles-based rapper whose music tells the story of overcoming hardships and leveling up in life. Raised by a single mother in a large family in Palmdale, California, and later in the tough projects of South Central LA, Bino was heavily influenced by gang life but found a vital outlet in music. His path led him to meet Soulja Boy during a stint in jail, which resulted in Bino signing with Soulja Boy's S.O.D.M.G. label. Despite numerous challenges, Bino has turned his life around and now advocates for youth facing similar struggles, raising awareness about PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Bino's resilience is showcased in his growing discography and the award-winning documentary HoodTrophy Bino: Breaking the Generational Curse, which premiered at SXSW and has received widespread acclaim and awards on the film festival circuit. The documentary offers an authentic look at Bino's life, from overcoming adversity to pursuing his dreams. Bino has opened for major artists like Soulja Boy, Tee Grizzley, Snoop Dogg and many more. His debut album HoodTrophy was released this year as an independent artist and features collaborations with heavy hitters such as Mozzy, Kalan Fr.Fr., and Peso Peso. With his second album set to release this winter and recent North American tours with Bravo the Bagchaser and Soulja Boy, HoodTrophy Bino is cementing his place as a prolific rapper and a motivator for his generation.
