Lay'na Michelle has accomplished so much in the music industry and entertainment world in the past few years, winning many prestigious awards and hitting epic milestones in her musical journey. Back on Aug. 15th of 2018 the great #RnBEmpress Lay'na Michelle gained the fan's popular vote during the Thick Nation Award ceremony which was held in Las Vegas, NV. Lay'na Michelle won the Thick Nation "BBW Entertainer" and "BBW Album of the Year" Award. Following her big win with Thick NAtion, Lay'na Michelle's buzz continued to grow and spread throughout the nation expeditiously. The rapidly rising star's new found popularity resulted in a slew of back to back performances and gigs around the U.S. including the opportunity to perform for the Detroit Pistons for their Pre-game held at Little Caesars Arena back in November of 2018.
Following Lay'na Michelle's Detroit Pistons Pregame performance, Lay'na received tons of accolades, high praise and recognition from the city. On account of her achievements, and being the first and so far only African American female vocalist to perform original self published music for the Detroit Pistons, her historical milestone was honored and awarded by being given an exhibit in the prestigious Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit, Michigan. The Lay'na Michelle Exhibit was on display from April 12th to April 30th of that year. On Aug. 22nd of 2019, the great Lay'na Michelle was blessed with the Spirit of Detroit Award from the Detroit City Council and Mayor Mike Duggan. Earlier this year, back in the month of July 2020, Lay'na Michelle won BEST FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the IMAs (Independent Music Awards) in Jacksonville, FL. Lately Lay'na Michelle has received major media coverage for her accomplishments and amazing singing voice.
