With his eccentric vocal sound styles and vivid songwriting abilities, Jay embodies the true essence of real R&B, Soul and Hip-Hop. He consistently shows that he isn’t afraid to step outside of his element. 



Coming from an extremely diverse family, music was always a major part of his life. His musical influences range from talented artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Chris Brown, Boys 2 Men, Nas, J Cole and even Bob Marley. He has been engrained with a deep love for music for as long as he can remember. Growing up an only child left him with a lot of time to himself which he used to develop his creativity through writing, singing and drawing. 



By the age of 14 he had performed at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, bringing the entire house down with his rendition of “Who’s Loving You” by the Jackson 5. Discovering his ability to move a crowd, he began to build his reputation in his home town of Oceanside, NY where he performed in various school talent shows, and local gigs. By the age of 16 he was determined on finding commercial success, and began creating and perfecting his own original masterpieces; crafting everything from the writing, to the melodies, and the instrumental and vocal production.



After graduating Oceanside High School he began studying Music Industry and Business, and Audio Production at SUNY Oneonta, and later at Five Towns College. In school he began to learn the fundamentals of the music business and the audio engineering world. Dealing with many personal issues, and a desire for a deeper connection with music, Jay eventually dropped out of school and began to immerse himself in his craft; teaching himself how to record, produce and engineer, also perfecting his vocal and writing techniques. He learned quickly by navigating different music programs, absorbing information while studying at various studios where he recorded, as well as studying numerous music, engineering, and business related books.
